Order with one dependable phrase

Poproszę is enough to make a simple order polite. For example, say Poproszę zupę pomidorową. If you are pointing at a dish on the menu, you can say To, poproszę (This, please).

Listen for Coś do picia? (Something to drink?) or Czy coś jeszcze? (Anything else?). A complete drink phrase such as Poproszę wodę niegazowaną gives you a useful answer without needing to build a new sentence.

Ask for the bill and choose how to pay

When you are ready to leave, say Poproszę rachunek. You may then hear Kartą czy gotówką? (By card or in cash?). Answer Kartą, proszę or Gotówką, proszę.

These phrases describe payment choices; they do not mean every restaurant accepts each method. Czy mogę zapłacić kartą? lets you check before you need to pay.
